Writing Update – May 2019

It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve posted, which means I owe people an apology and an explanation. These past 3 weeks have been pretty hectic, which has meant that I’ve done very little in the way of writing, including for this blog. In hindsight, I should have written ahead so that when this month came up. That way, I would have had content ready so that things would progress smoothly. Lesson learned.

I don’t want to get into too much personal information, but we had two graduations, someone move into the house, and are preparing for one to move out. On top of that, my day job has been really busy. Writing has been on the back burner, to say the least. There will still be many interruptions and distractions this summer. I am really behind my deadlines for writing, and I’m afraid that is going to continue for a while.

All that said, my editor is done with Corruption of Blood, so I can get through that soon. I’m almost done with my prep work for Calling of the Sun and have three chapters drafted as well. Overall, I’m about two months behind where I want to be on my writing this year. I’m not going to make all that up, but I’m still hopeful that I’ll be able to put out a novel and draft two more this year.

On the blogging front, I’ve decided that I’m done with my series on creating Shildaria. Next week I’m going to start a new series on creating magic systems. It will start generic and get more specific as I go. If there’s something you want me to talk about, just let me know in the comments.

And that’s what I have going on. See you next Thursday!

  1. You are very busy! Congratulations on the graduation! Even though you are behind where you wanted to be, I am sure that you will get all accomplished that you want for the next year! You are an amazing man! Best of luck with all of your endeavors!
