Church Hierarchy

All priests are considered equals in the eyes of the priesthood. The only place where this cannot be true is in Myos, where the priests must find a person who will speak for the entire priesthood. Th e priests in Myos search for the most qualified person to do the job. This person is looked upon with great respect for giving up so much to deal with politics.

Initiation into Priesthood

Perspective priests must go on a quest of discovery. The initiate must go into the wilds with no food, no clothing, and no weapons. They must return to their place of origin in exactly one year. At that time they are accepted into the faith.

Initiation into Faithful

Nothing is required to worship Kalim.

Edicts of Kalim

  1. The lands and creatures in the world live in harmony. Do not upset that harmony

  2. The land will produce for you, but you must respect it for doing so.

  3. Use all you can from the things you take from nature. Waste is not Kalim’s way.

  4. Those who do not follow these edicts will be punished. By punishing those who do not obey the laws of Kalim, you help to give life to those who do.

Suborders of Priesthood

The Order of the Willow

These priests work in the urban areas in the world. They promote the edicts of Kalim to those who seem to care the least about them. Those who purposely disregard the laws are “culled.” That is, they are removed from society, quickly, expediently, and painfully. Members of this order are not looked upon highly by the rest of the priesthood. At one time, they were thought to have been removed by the priesthood, but the order of the Willow still exists, trying to cleanse the world of those whom they consider unholy.

The Followers of the Tiger

This group was formed after the Druid Wars. They believe that Kalim entrusted her faithful with the protection of Nature and the Druids overstepped their bounds. The formation of the Harthan Mountains and the genocide of several races make them believe that the Druids must be destroyed. They employ Inquisition style tactics to find those who they believe are Druids, and summarily execute those whom they convict. The priesthood has collectively denied the existence of the Tigers. However, it is rumored that many of the more influential priests have aided or even joined the Followers of the Tiger.

The Keepers of the Flame

This sect believes that it is their duty to see the cycle of life, death, and rebirth continues naturally. They have allied themselves with followers of other gods to gain strength, most notably the followers of Drakyr, Solemi, Iricil, Myril, and Sirek. Their enemies are priests of Cyris, faithful of Lyram, devils, necromancers, and all other meddlers in the ways of life. Their preferred methods of destroying their enemies are burying them alive or burning them at the stake.
