Church Hierarchy

The priesthood is controlled by the Dius, who also hold the seat of Sirek in the Circle of Nine in Myos. He or she speaks for the entire church. The position of Dius is held for life. If it is ever vacant, the Tribunes are responsible for electing the next Dius. Tribunes are also responsible for carrying out official policy in each individual country. The Dius may remove a Tribune from office if they are found to have violated the faith of their office. If the office of Tribune is vacant, it falls to the Tetrarchs to elect a new one. The Tetrarchs are those priests who control areas within a country, like the major cities. A Tribune may remove a Tetrarch from office if the Tetrarch is found to have violated the faith of his office. Below the Tetrarchs are the Pentarchs, usually simply called priests. It is the responsibility of the priests to elect a new Tetrarch if the office is vacant, along with their duties of preaching the edicts of Sirek to the masses.

Initiation into Priesthood

Initiates begin training by being tutored by a priest (Pentarch). Those who wish to continue with their training go to Frothwere, where the priest who taught them sponsors them. They are then schooled in theology, philosophy, and tolerance of other faiths. This takes two years. The Dius then tests the knowledge and faith of the initiate. Those who pass are accepted into the priesthood.

Initiation into Faithful

New members are welcomed into the congregation. They go to three months of weekly meetings, where they are taught the basic theology of Sirek. Upon completion, they are given the rite of acceptance. Many priests ignore this tradition, and welcome new members without ceremony.

Edicts of Sirek

Sirek created everything in balance. That balance must be maintained.

The natural balance is dynamic or active. Everyone must try to further his or her own goals. To fail to do so is untrue to oneself and to Sirek.

Do not persecute those who believe differently.

Suborders of Priesthood

The Children of Inquisition

These priests believe that the balance is tipped in the favor of evil. Therefore, they believe that they must find sources of corruption in the church and remove them, so that the balance can be maintained. Many priests fear the Children of Inquisition, due to the lack of knowledge of what constitutes evil, but they are tolerant of the beliefs of their colleagues.

The Order of Moril

This secret order is secretly aiding the cause of the Druids. It was named after a Dwarven druid from the South Kingdoms before the Dragon Wars. No one outside the Order knows of its intentions outside of rumors, as many people would kill those who were part of it.
