Back to Editing

My editor has been able to get back in the saddle and given me some chapters. We’re over half way through Illusion of Truth. If we keep the pace we’re on right now, I’ll be able to get it published by the middle of July. Here’s hoping.

In the mean time, I’ve elected to write a short story for an anthology from the Des Moines Writer’s Workshop. The theme will be mental health awareness, and the proceeds will go for that. Once I have more information, I’ll post it. The due date for this will be September 1, so I need to get writing on that.

The way these anthologies work is that they are exclusive for a period of time. So, once it’s published, I can’t post it on anything else until the exclusivity period ends. For the first one, Leviathan’s Creed, I plan to put that out for sale as a single. If I keep writing these shorter works, I think I’ll put them together as a collection.

On other fronts, I’m hoping to start accumulating art for some of the world information to help with the visuals. This would include holy symbols for the gods, drawings of buildings and landscapes, and the like. I’ll let you know if I get any posted.

I’m putting 3 more gods up today. Hopefully, pantheism will be completely posted soon. It is a long process, but hopefully it proves useful. I love writing this, so it seems I’ll always have more. I’m still focused on getting the basics of the world up (religion, magic, and one country), but I have something close to 50 countries, multiple religions, 20 different types of magic, and a huge history. Add to that “sourcebook” type material like vampires, shapeshifters, and a full multiverse of planes and I can write on this for years. In fact, that’s the plan!

Writing on Book 3, Corruption of Blood, will be on hold until I have Illusion of Truth published and the next short story submitted. Here’s hoping I can keep up the pace!

Check back next week. I will post on Saturday instead of Sunday due to Father’s day and needing to be out of town. As always, thanks for the support.
